Plywood needs love and care just like any other wood. Here are our tips on how to care for your furniture:
ALWAYS use heat resistant mats and coasters to protect surfaces.
Mop up spills straight away so that liquid doesn’t soak into the wood and leave a mark. Laminate surfaces are more resilient, but they do mark with alkali liquids so, to be safe, it’s best to mop up spills quickly.
Clean surfaces by wiping with a clean damp cloth and a neutral detergent and water mix. On the natural wood and veneers never use chemical, bleach or alcohol products. On the Laminates use anything more abrasive than a white scour pad.
To keep your Laminate clean, apply a soapy blend of water and natural soap, or use mild surface cleaner.
On high contact areas, you may need to oil the plywood every 18 months or so to keep it protected. Use a lint free cloth to apply a thin layer of clear, matt natural hardwax oil. Rub in evenly. One layer should be enough, but repeat if it still looks dry.
